Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High school graduation or GED required. Graduate from secretarial program or equivalent work experience, preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum two (2) years responsible secretarial work in the areas of customer service, office management and project management supporting a major department or middle manager. Health Care experience preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access). Knowledge of scheduling programs, e-mail, voice mail. Familiarity with medical terminology or transcription may be required for some positions. Additional software knowledge might be required for individual departments.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people; maintain rapport with the public and internal customers; participate as a team member. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to edit and write moderately complex reports and correspondence to a wide audience. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Review materials for accuracy and make suggestions for improvement or make limited corrections. Ability to use judgement in managing workflow, Ability to handle moderately complex problems or issues in standard and emergent situations.
